THE COMPETENCY APPROACH AS A TOOL FOR DEVELOPING THE STUDENT'S PERSONAL POTENTIAL

Abstract

This article presents the competency approach as a modern pedagogical model and tool for developing the student's personal potential. The aim is to substantiate the importance of the competency paradigm for the formation of key skills, attitudes and values that support the personal and social development of the learner. To achieve this goal, tasks have been set related to the analysis of the theoretical foundations of the approach, identification of the main components of competency-based learning and formulation of practical strategies for implementation in the school environment.
The study was conducted using methods of theoretical analysis, comparative review of pedagogical literature and synthesis of good practices. which allow to trace the effects and conditions for effective implementation of the competency approach. Its theoretical foundations, its importance for the formation of key skills and attitudes, as well as the possibilities for its practical application in school practice are examined. In addition to the theoretical aspect, specific pedagogical strategies for implementing the competency approach in school practice are presented, with an emphasis on the conditions for its effectiveness, the accompanying difficulties and possible solutions. The competency approach is not limited to the transfer of knowledge, but supports: the awareness of personal identity, the development of responsible and proactive behavior, the formation of social values and sensitivity to society. The necessary competencies for the successful integration of the individual into society are mainly related to the application of critical thinking, the development of creativity, the desire to acquire new knowledge and an attitude to lifelong learning. The competency approach creates conditions for building independent and socially active individuals.
The results show that its systematic implementation supports the development of self-awareness, initiative and social responsibility, creating prerequisites for sustainable personal development and successful socialization. The emphasis is on the conceptual foundations of the approach, including the principles of targeted development of skills, competencies and value orientations, which form the overall educational identity of the learner.
In conclusion, it is emphasized that the systematic implementation of the competency approach contributes to a more targeted and sustainable development of the student's personal potential, while at the same time supporting his preparation for real life and professional challenges.
