Abstract

The last few years will remain in the history of world education with the unprecedented transition of academic education into online. This change has emerged as a crisis way to control the spread of the Covid-19 virus in a pandemic.

The big challenges for the education systems were the conduct of the training in the period of strict measures against Covid-19 and new opportunities for transformation of the organizational and pedagogical models of education.

The time we live provides us an opportunity to be part of massive changes. Despite the tendency of the development of the key competencies, the leading priority according to educational policies of the European Union, the achievement of results requires more detailed acquaintance with the factors that influence the effectiveness of the learning process in this time.

The main aspect of the quality and effectiveness is providing the necessary connections of communication and interaction between the participants of the education. The well-organized learning environment, communication, and interaction clearly indicate the availability of opportunities for quality and effectiveness. Rethinking the criteria for measuring the learning outcomes and the relation learner-environment would lead to an increase in the quality of learning so that students are actually “equipped” with knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for successful personal and professional realization.

While we are trying to solve those challenges in traditional education, there comes a lot of new questions “why” and “how”? We already have the tools that allow through the application of augmented reality (AR) to use new methods and functions in education – digital books, flashcards, and other educational materials, that contain integrated “markers” that after scanned with AR devices to produce additional information in multimedia format. AR can help in understanding complex definitions by visualizing dimensional structures and models. Augmented reality allows distant education and cooperation by improving the interaction between students and learners in a common digital environment with virtual and real objects. AR can also support the processes of sharing knowledge, discussion meetings, use of common visualization by interactive digital whiteboards, and shared environments for modeling.

Only now, with the new technologies, we can overcome some problems such as limited resources, and create a new way of thinking, and vision of the society of the future.

The purpose of the present article is to examine the impact and the attitude of learners to “crisis education” in the new educational online environment by transforming how knowledge is transmitted and acquired through modern technologies.
