Abstract

Many accidents such as drowning, electric shock, strangulation, traffic accidents, trauma, drug intoxication are closely related to abrupt cessation of vital functions. The cessation of vital functions (representative of respiration as well as the work of the heart), practically suggested death of the organism. Regardless of the cause, death (artificial, violent, or due to illness) can be clinical and biological.Clinical death is terminated by cessation of respiratory and circulatory function and is a prolonged cardiac arrest (P. Safar). Acute respiratory distress (ARS) is a broad term and includes a number of factors that occur suddenly and endanger the lives of patients due to disturbed balance of the internal environment of the body. The causes of such conditions are different with one common feature, difficulty in absorbing O2 and releasing CO2 by causing different forms of hypoxia. Most causes affect the respiratory system as well as the central nervous system. Cessation of heart function or cardiac arrest (CA), in the classical sense of the word, represents abrupt, out of complete health, stopping the work of the heart in people from whom it was not expected. Cardiac arrest is the most urgent and stressful situation in which the medical team can find itself. When the heart stops suddenly, the circulation stops and hypoxia occurs, from which the cells of the cerebral cortex suffer. Fainting occurs in less than 15 seconds, air starvation in 15 to 30 seconds lasting up to 1 minute, and absence of circulation for 3 to 5 minutes indicates irreversible brain damage. From this arises the most important factor for starting SBMO, it is time.
