Abstract

Today, with the fast way of life and constantly changing business environment, it is necessary for companies to constantly be up to date with the latest technological developments in order to remain competitive in the market. Digital technology has changed the world of business, enabling companies from different territories and from different sectors to become more productive, more efficient and to contact new customers - which means, overall, to become more competitive. This process of digital transformation and its benefits are now permanent in many areas of the world, the process is supported by public policies and projects. Traditional business processes are slowly disappearing, as new technologies take their place. Digital transformation is the process of integrating digital technology into all aspects of business, fundamentally changing the way businesses operate and deliver value to customers. Digital technologies are transforming internal processes and opening opportunities to identify and implement new methods of product distribution and opportunities to monetize services.
Digital transformation is key to the success of all modern companies. No one claims that transformation is simple, but everyone agrees that digital transformation is multifaceted, complex and filled with challenges that can make even the most experienced business person spin. Many different paths lead to digital transformation and every company's journey is unique.
Digital transformation has become a key driver for the success of modern businesses, driving innovation, efficiency, and competitiveness across industries. However, the full digital integration is often hindered by employee-related barriers, including resistance to change, lack of digital skills, and low engagement. This paper explores the critical role employees play in the digital transformation process, focusing on identifying and overcoming the challenges that impede successful implementation. Using a self-administered questionnaire, examines employee perceptions, organizational readiness, and the impact of digital transformation on job satisfaction, engagement, and productivity. Drawing on collected data, this paper highlights directions for fostering a culture of adaptability and innovation, emphasizing the importance of continuous upskilling and effective change management. By addressing the human factors in digital transformation, companies can unlock their full potential, ensuring seamless integration of technology and sustained growth in an increasingly digital marketplace. The findings offer actionable insights for business leaders, policymakers, and researchers aiming to bridge the gap between technological advancements and workforce dynamics.
