Abstract

This paper presents a statistical analysis of patients treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at “GOB 8th of September” hospital throughout the year 2024, with a special focus on patients undergoing surgical interventions. The primary aim is to evaluate the frequency and types of cases admitted, and to assess the role of nurses in the care and treatment process. The methodology includes data collected from the ICU’s patient report book, analyzed by gender, type of surgical procedure, and outcome of care. The study found that a total of 420 patients were admitted during the year, including 260 males and 160 females. A total of 39 patients experienced exitus letalis. Results are presented graphically. The findings highlight the essential contribution of intensive care nurses in postoperative monitoring, therapy management, and patient recovery. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of continuous education and professional development of nurses to maintain high standards of care and ensure improved outcomes. This analysis also aims to reflect the professionalism and dedication of the ICU nursing team through quantitative indicators and outcomes.
