Abstract

Juvenile delinquency today, in contemporary conditions, represents a widespread negative phenomenon that manifests in many forms within the social community. The relevance of this negative social phenomenon can be attributed to a number of endogenous and exogenous factors, which are integral parts of the modern social order, unfortunately affecting young individuals the most. This is a phenomenon that receives relatively little attention in our society, both from a theoretical and practical standpoint. This can, to some extent, be attributed to social standards and the societal discourse that considers acts committed by individuals whose awareness and will are not fully developed as not threatening society or its control mechanisms. However, this does not exclude the aspect of illegality from a criminal law perspective. In recent times, we have witnessed a number of criminal offenses committed by minors, particularly in the area of traffic, endangering public safety in our country. A detailed analysis of the criminal records of these deviant subjects shows that they have caused socially dangerous occurrences even during their adolescence. This supports the view, expressed by many legal analysts, that juvenile delinquency is an undesirable product preceded by unsuccessful prevention and resocialization, or by the absence of appropriate accountability for prior illegal behavior. This logically raises the question: what should be expected from a fully developed individual when the youngest members of society are the ones most prone to deviant behavior? This is a highly sensitive issue due to the specific nature of the perpetrators—children with an as-yet underdeveloped psychophysiological system. For this reason, the factors that promote juvenile delinquency represent the most important segment that must be analytically addressed in line with the times. In addition to the internal emotional and biological struggles of children that drive criminal behavior, social conditions are also relevant, as well as technological development—specifically digitalization and artificial intelligence tools that can generate misperceptions and inappropriate behavior among young individuals. In this way, the starting points of this study are determined, with the main goal being an explicit interpretation of all indicators, factors, social conditions, and societal circumstances that induce deviant behavior in minors, with special attention to contemporary determinants that act as primary generators of juvenile delinquency in modern society. The primary intention of this scientific work is to expand scholarly knowledge about the etiological framework of juvenile delinquency within the academic community, while also encouraging institutional awareness to promote a more proactive approach by relevant institutional actors. By applying the method of deduction, we will start from the analysis of the basic postulates and, through logical consideration of the causality between causes and effects, we will arrive at concrete facts
