Abstract

This study addresses the concept of identity and the use of biometric methods for the unique recognition of individuals. Identity is based on physical, biographical, and legal features that make each person distinguishable. Biometrics uses physiological characteristics, such as the face, fingerprints, iris, retina, and DNA, as well as behavioral characteristics, such as speech, gait, and signature, to verify identity and prevent fraud. Modern biometric systems can combine multiple modalities to enhance accuracy and performance, leveraging sensors and digital analysis. The use of biometrics provides non-invasive solutions, especially in public environments and remote communication. However, the success of these systems is accompanied by challenges related to privacy, data protection, and user acceptance. This study emphasizes the importance of selecting appropriate biometric features and integrating various technologies for secure and effective identification
