Keywords:
modern school, digitalization, multimedia, new educational conceptsAbstract
This paper explores the changes in the education system, especially in the context of technological advances and changes occurring in society. It is analyzed how the traditional school loses its monopoly in the transmission of knowledge due to the presence of mass media, information and communication technologies and social networks. New models of learning and teaching are presented, including independent and active learning. The importance of interactive communication and inclusion of multimedia learning sources is highlighted. It also explains how school management should adapt to these changes and prepare students for the future, providing them with a high degree of media literacy, creative thinking and project-based learning. Finally, potential characteristics of the schools of the future are presented, including globally connected schools and students, solid teachers who will offer and make their knowledge available to all, individualized educational plans, use of digital tools, e-books and platforms, and overcoming of some commonly known educational concepts.
