SPECIFICS OF THE APPLICATION PRINT TECHNIQUE WHEN INTRODUCING THE ARCHITECTURAL ENVIRONMENT - APPLICATION WITH FUTURE STUDENTS PRIMARY TEACHERS

One of the focuses of art education in grade 3 is to learn concepts such as "architectural environment" through various hands-on activities in the form of pictorial representations. The appliqué-printing technique provides ample opportunities to enrich conceptions of the architectural environment and the specifics of architectural objects in public and culturally significant buildings. Printing and imprinting as a technique are related to Graphics. An appliqué print is a mixed media technique in which the appliqué is initially formed by cutting and gluing elements of monochrome paper, cardboard or fabric loosely together. It is possible to layer the paper by gluing several layers together. The next stage involves spreading tempera paint in an even layer, overall, over the appliqué. While the paint has not yet dried, a sheet of paper is laid over it, pressed and the finished impression is carefully removed. The "matrix" thus created can be used to make different coloured prints - monochrome, full colour, in local colours, etc. The publication traces the development of the technique over the last 20 years of the present century, through the content of the attached textbooks on Fine Art for primary school age (mainly in the third and fourth grades, in which the "appliqué print" technique is covered). The aim of the present study is to investigate and establish experimentally how the technique affects the detection and analysis of the specificities of architectural objects as part of the architectural environment, applied in the pedagogical process of training students - future primary teachers, by creating a print of the application or working with templates. Examples are given of student work with the technique, implemented in a university learning environment.
