Abstract

The global environment and new working conditions generate changes in every segment of work in all types of enterprises. The increase in competition because of globalization processes is one of the biggest changes faced by enterprises. Also, enterprises face different types of challenges of a social, economic, and environmental nature that affect working and living conditions. However, the basic characteristic of the global business environment is the individual, i.e. the employee, and the knowledge and skills he possesses and brings into the business process and economic flows.
The basis of modern economic trends and the transition to the so-called circular economy as a new way of creating and creating value in society and the environment are innovations, the development of nanotechnology, artificial intelligence, and robotics. All this implies changes and redefinition of the preconditions for the sustainability of enterprises. In these conditions, the achievement of competitiveness and sustainability of enterprises is based on the employees and the skills they possess. To respond to modern challenges, employees must have appropriate so-called green skills. To control the impact of global changes and solve the modern challenges faced by enterprises in the course of work related to business sustainability, it is necessary to change the policies for building the skills of employees. To achieve business sustainability, enterprises should implement policies for training employees and building so-called green skills.
Therefore, the subject of research of this paper is aimed at the analysis and theoretical research of the characteristics of the skills of employees, etc. "green skills", which are necessary to support and implement sustainable businesses. The basic hypothesis of the research consists of realizing the need and the possibilities for introducing training for the so-called "green skills."
Based on the knowledge obtained from the conducted research, appropriate guidelines and recommendations will be given in the concluding part of the paper.
