THE IMPACT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ON WORK MOTIVATION

In the contemporary digital era, artificial intelligence is establishing itself as a key factor that transforms the way people work, organizational processes, and approaches to employee motivation. The present article explores the complex influence of artificial intelligence on work motivation, examining both the potential benefits and the risks associated with the implementation of intelligent systems. The adoption of artificial intelligence offers opportunities for optimizing routine tasks, increasing efficiency, and encouraging creativity, which leads to greater employee satisfaction and engagement. By automating repetitive operations and providing personalized training, artificial intelligence stimulates professional development and strengthens the sense of competence and autonomy. AI-based systems provide transparency, timely feedback, and analytical support in decision-making, which supports self-regulation and better planning of individual and team goals. Despite these positive aspects, artificial intelligence can also give rise to several challenges for employee motivation. Task automation is sometimes perceived as a threat to job security, which increases stress and anxiety. Excessive monitoring and control through intelligent systems can limit the sense of autonomy, while complex algorithms and requirements for new digital skills increase cognitive load and generate emotional stress. Furthermore, reduced social interactions in digitized processes can weaken the sense of belonging and team connectedness, which also negatively affects motivation. The proper use of artificial intelligence requires a strategic approach, in which technological solutions are integrated with attention to human needs and the psychological well-being of employees. The focus should be on clearly communicating the benefits of using artificial intelligence, actively involving staff in the implementation process, providing training and opportunities for skill development, as well as regular feedback and recognition of efforts. These measures increase engagement, reduce uncertainty, and facilitate adaptation to new technologies, maximizing the positive impact of artificial intelligence on motivation. Artificial intelligence is not only a tool for optimization and automation, but also a potential catalyst for personal and professional development when applied in a way that balances technological advancement with human needs. Achieving high motivation and productivity in the digital work environment requires the integration of artificial intelligence with principles of transparency, flexibility, participation, and support. In this way, employees are motivated and capable of handling the challenges of contemporary digital transformation.
