PEDAGOGICAL DOCUMENTATION AND RECORD-KEEPING IN THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM OF THE REPUBLIC OF NORTH MACEDONIA

The educational system demands a systematic and professional approach to the management of student data, instructional activities, and learning outcomes. Pedagogical documentation and record keeping extend beyond administrative duties; they constitute the cornerstone of effective governance in the educational process and function as a multi modal communication tool across diverse formats, consolidating records into a coherent framework that encompasses planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of teaching. The digitalization of education has transformed pedagogical records from traditional paper based formats into integrated electronic systems, thereby facilitating data accessibility and longitudinal analysis. Nevertheless, these electronic documentation systems exhibit certain functional limitations, while a lack of specialized professional development within schools further hinders their effective utilization and impact on pedagogical practice. Successful implementation requires continuous professional training for educators and robust digital infrastructure. Beyond teacher training, reforms aimed at enhancing standardization, streamlining documentation, and ensuring its appropriate application across all levels of education from preschool to higher education are essential. Such an approach enables more efficient and expedited documentation processes, though the quality and dynamics of these outputs remain contingent upon the specific organizational environment. Educators should regard documentation as a strategic tool for improving instructional quality rather than perceiving it as a mere administrative obligation.
