WHAT CHALLENGES ARE COMMUNICATION AND EDUCATION FACING TODAY? SOME WORKING SUGGESTIONS
Keywords:
communication, education, psychology, contemporary and future problemsAbstract
The modern world offers an enormous amount of information, as a result of the active development of technologies, and this process presents a great abundance and diversity. But the flip side of the "coin", of this phenomenon leads to clutter, overloading of the consciousness, mainly of young people, with a huge and endless information flow. Because along with the benefits of Internet communication, which we all take into account, a number of deepening problems also appear. I will focus on some of them, as well as on some working proposals for solving them in the field of communication and education, in this article. It does not claim to be exhaustive, but it will create a vision of concrete real help that these most active generations and modern educational institutions can receive after we are faced with the paradox that humanity in its civilizational development created new technologies and Internet communication, and precisely its "creation" suppresses and changes its life, creating unexpected problems. It is no longer news that the constant presence on the Internet builds addiction and limits real communication. The personality of the “consumers” loses the valuable connection to traditional communication with the surrounding world, through which they develop and receive information at the appropriate educational level at which they are located. Consciousness is encapsulated, isolated and lives in an illusory digital world that takes over the functions of the real one. True and necessary communication and all the opportunities for human development that it offers become meaningless. All this provokes our scientific searches in the direction of helping with working ideas for dealing with the problems of communication and education of modern and future generations, taking into account their emergence after the active development of technologies and the psychological consequences of constant presence on the Internet. And this, in our opinion, can be achieved by applying complex, regulating legal means, and then with proven psychological methods of influence, aimed at all participants in the educational communication process – students – teachers – parents – psychologists – pedagogical advisors – society. Because one of the biggest battles today is for an adequate perspective on life and the world of our children and young people, for real positive self-esteem, for quality education, and for an optimistic vision for the future.
