THE BULGARIAN LITERARY LANGUAGE AND ITS KEY ROLE IN THE DESTINY OF THE NATION AND NATIONAL SECURITY

Abstract

From the dawn of human civilization to the present day, the main means of communication has been language, the manifestation of which is speech. Speech is a powerful weapon for influencing public communication. Especially today, when division, violated norms of behavior, more than ever, it is necessary for the Bulgarian speech and the Bulgarian literary language to be recognized from the positions of the historical perspective in the efforts to preserve the integrity, strength and independence of the Bulgarian state from external influences. Moreover, the lessons of history for the regaining of the independence of the Bulgarian church, education and political freedom, are in support of the power of the Bulgarian speech for faith, the power for life, enlightenment, national self-consciousness. It is also a destiny that brings the opportunity to change life, to fight, to defend that invisible thread that connects eras in time and carries spirituality through them. Numerous publications, heterogeneous in their nature, are dedicated to the Bulgarian literary language and speech. In today's contradictory times, when the negative effects of the globalization liberal social model are increasingly evident, when the danger of losing national sovereignty is of serious dimensions, the author directs his scientific research on the dependence Bulgarian literary language - nationality - national security. In search of the relationship between them, the purpose of this publication is to study and defend the key role of the Bulgarian literary language over the centuries in protecting freedom, statehood, identity and national security through the prism of a brief historical overview. And all this in support of the powerful impact of the Bulgarian literary language, which contributed to numerous transformations in specific historical eras, the resolution of conflicts, the protection of the Bulgarian state and nation as a guarantor of the security and integrity of national borders and the Bulgarian spirit. Moreover, the Bulgarian language, faith, Bulgarian spirit are among the significant reasons for the existence and assertion of our national identity over time. Unfortunately, having protected its people over the centuries and defended itself with blood, the Bulgarian language in the modern world remains somehow unnoticed, neglected and undervalued. This is confirmed by the fact that it is increasingly being replaced by the English language in naming, naming public places, and official events. In the media and in communication, English expressions are increasingly used without looking for a replacement expression in Bulgarian, which abounds in appropriate expressions and word combinations. Against the background of all this, fewer and fewer young people write correctly in Bulgarian, without considering it a serious problem.
