Abstract

Anesthetic preparation and patient care during heart transplantation are key segments in the success of the entire procedure.
This process requires a high level of coordination between the anesthesiologist, the cardiac surgical team and the nurse. Heart transplantation is a complex intervention performed in patients with terminal heart failure. The preoperative assessment aims to determine the patient's general condition and risk factors for anesthesia. Special attention is paid to cardiovascular, respiratory and renal status. Anesthetic preparation includes the selection of appropriate anesthesia and stabilization of vital functions. Continuous monitoring of hemodynamics and oxygenation is applied during the operation. The nurse plays a significant role in preparing the patient before entering the operating room. Her role continues in the intraoperative and postoperative phases of care. Postoperative supervision is carried out in intensive care units with constant monitoring of vital parameters.
Signs of transplant rejection and possible complications are monitored. Immunosuppressive therapy is started immediately after the intervention in order to prevent rejection. Patient and family education is an important part of long-term care. The nurse participates in monitoring the therapy and early recognition of adverse reactions. Psychological support is also important in the recovery process.
Appropriate anesthetic preparation contributes to reducing intraoperative risk. Good postoperative care directly affects patient survival. A team approach is necessary for successful transplantation.
Modern protocols allow for better control of complications. Continuous monitoring allows for timely intervention in the event of instability.
The goal of the anesthesia team is to maintain stable hemodynamics throughout the entire process. The nurse ensures continuity of care and communication with the patient.
Early detection of infections is critical in the postoperative period. Heart transplantation requires an integrated approach that encompasses all phases of treatment.
Anesthesia and nursing care together contribute to better clinical outcomes. Quality preparation and care are the basis for successful transplantation and improved quality of life.
