COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF DEPENDENCIES AND FACTORS DETERMINING SKILL AND PERFORMANCE IN YOUNG FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL PLAYERS

In the present analysis, correlation and factor analysis were applied, through the first to establish the existence of interrelationships between two or more quantities and to assess the level of stochastic interdependence between the elements, and through the second to reveal the factor determinants and to delve deeper into the composition of the multi-component phenomenon under study.
The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the interrelationships between the components of mastery and performance, as well as their primary factors in 13–14-year-old football and basketball players.
In this specific study, four tasks were set:
- To reveal and determine the interrelationships between the dimensions of mastery and performance in adolescent male and female football players.
- To compare and examine the correlation models of the indicators related to the task and to the ego of the studied 13–14-year-old male and female football players.
- To establish the factor weights of the latent dimensions of mastery and performance using the principal elements method in male and female football players.
- To specify the rotated factor matrices and to explain in detail the results of the two experimental samples.
28 male and female football players (14 in each team) aged 13–14 were studied. The football players are from the team of OFK "Akademik", Svishtov, and the basketball players are from SK "Spartak-Pl", Pleven. The sports and pedagogical experiment was implemented at the end of the 2022/2023 sports and competitive year.
From the interpretation of the results obtained, it can be summarized that football and basketball players give their best during training and competitions and play an important role in the team, regardless of their level. Competitors feel successful when they improve their skills, and know that hard work is always rewarded.
